The Opera development, located in South Brisbane, is a 16 storey multi-residential tower including rooftop terrace, four levels of basement carparking and retail tenancies on ground floor.

The development consists of 190 private residential tenancies, 300m2 of retail tenancies and 86m2 of boutique office space.

McVeigh Consultants worked closely with the client and as an integrated design team to develop a design that adds value to the site and the surrounding area.

A cross block link has been incorporated seemlessly to create a pedestrian link to Manning Street, activated at the edges by retail and office tenancies encouraging pedestrian movement through the site. Attention has been paid to the scale of the facade treatments allowing the design to integrate successfully within the already established surrounding building fabric, while maintaining its own individual presence.

The building was designed to be an architecturally modern building which aligns with the surrounding area of contemporary residential, commercial and retail spaces.
